FAQ

Q1. Is this WSQ course SkillsFuture-funded?

Yes. As an SSG-approved WSQ course, eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs can offset course fees with their SkillsFuture Credit. Singaporeans aged 40 and above qualify for enhanced subsidies under the Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES). Final out-of-pocket fees depend on your funding tier — contact FLA for a personalised quote.

Q2. What is the TGS course code for this programme?

Every WSQ-accredited course has a unique TGS code on MySkillsFuture. The TGS code for this course is TGS-2021007947. Use it to check funding eligibility, claim SkillsFuture Credit, and verify accreditation on the official SkillsFuture portal.

Q3. Who should attend this course?

Business owners, senior management, and franchise executives looking to expand, grow, and deepen their knowledge of franchising.

Q4. How do I register, and what's the next intake date?

Submit the enquiry form on this page or email [email protected]. Our team will confirm the next intake, share the funded fee, and walk you through SkillsFuture claim steps. Class sizes are kept small for hands-on learning.

Q5. How do I become a franchisee in Singapore?

The realistic path: assess your capital and risk appetite, shortlist franchise opportunities (FLA's directory is a good start), conduct due diligence on the franchisor and disclosure documents, secure financing, sign the franchise agreement and complete franchisor training. FBO walks you through every step.

Q6. What kind of capital do I need to buy a franchise in Singapore?

It varies dramatically from low-cost vending or laundromat franchises (~S$30k–S$80k) to F&B franchises (S$200k–S$1m+) and master franchises (S$500k+). FBO covers how to assess franchise unit economics and structure your own financing.

Q7. Is the FBO course online or in person?

FBO is delivered as a 3-day synchronous e-learning programme — live online sessions with the trainer, suitable for working professionals evaluating franchise ownership.

Q8. What's the difference between a franchisee and a franchisor? A franchisor owns the brand, system and IP and licences it to others. A franchisee is the

local business owner who pays for the right to operate under that brand and system. FBO is for franchisees and aspiring franchisees; SBMF/FOPPM/FRAMES are for franchisors.

Q9. How do I know if a franchise opportunity is legitimate? Check the franchisor's track record, financial health, existing franchisee satisfaction, the disclosure document, and whether they're a member of FLA Singapore. The FBO course teaches a structured due-diligence checklist.
