The Indonesian Franchise Association, known as Asosiasi Franchise Indonesia (AFI), was established on November 22, 1991, by five homegrown franchise businesses. Its formation was encouraged and supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, and LPPM.
AFI is the only franchise association in Indonesia recognized by both the World Franchise Council and the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation. As the national membership organization for both local and international franchisors, AFI proudly provides services in franchise and business concept exhibitions, publications, education, and business growth opportunities—particularly for Indonesian enterprises entering the franchise ecosystem.
AFI organizes national and international franchise exhibitions, including the IFBC (Info Franchise & Business Concept Expo), IFRA (International Franchise, License, and Business Concept Expo), and IFBO (Indonesia International Franchise & Business Opportunity Expo).
AFI empowers a wide range of businesses to adopt franchising as a model for expansion, creating opportunities for SMEs, state-owned enterprises, and entrepreneurs. To further support the growth of the franchising industry, AFI will host Indonesia Franchise Week in October 2025.
To this day, AFI remains actively engaged as a partner to both government and private institutions, particularly in the areas of franchise education and regulatory consultancy. Committed to fostering franchise development, AFI continues to build a supportive ecosystem that empowers the industry.
